Safety during swim lessons is my number one priority. As a Certified Pool Operator and someone who has worked in Aquatics for almost 14 years, I understand the importance of proper pool maintenance in keeping swimmers safe. Unfortunately I feel that our current locations do not meet my safety standards. While it breaks my heart, all lessons going forward are canceled until a new location can be determined.
I love teaching swim lessons, and this decision was not an easy one to make. The last year of lessons has been an absolute blast, and I am beyond grateful for all of the students and their families who have joined me on this journey.
In the last year I have taught 26 students and almost 100 lessons! And we are on track to tripple those numbers in 2026! That is so amazing! Thank you all so much!
Little Bay Aquatics is not done. I will still be providing water safety education and American Red Cross Health and Safety courses. I am also not giving up on lessons. Hopefully I will find a new location soon, and lessons can resume.
All lessons currently scheduled will be canceled and refunded. You should see your refunds come through in the next week. I appreciate your patience, understanding and support.
I hope to see everyone back in the water soon!

I've been pretty radio silent, so I wanted to provide an update I received today.
The e-mail read:
"Hi Cherish,
I apologize for the delay in following up. I did conduct an onsite inspection at both faciltities of concern and did have to issue closing orders for both the Quality Inn swimming pool and spa and the Super 8 swimming pool and spa. The Quality Inn swimming pool has since reopened, but closing orders remain on the Super 8"
I have been in contact with the health department about my concerns in regards to pool maintenance and safety at both facilities. Both facilities were closed following their inspection. While the Quality Inn has since re-opened, I have not yet made the decision to continue lessons at that location.
Safety during lessons is always my number one priority. I conduct safety inspections prior to every lesson. This includes checking the pool chemicals. Any safety concerns were always communicated with hotel management and lessons were rescheduled.
I am continuing to explore other pool options. Unfortunately, most hotel pools are for guests only.
Teaching swim lessons is my passion and I hope we can get back in the water soon!
